The practice was established in 1978 in the Massachusetts/New Hampshire border town of Plaistow.  It is located in the Village District on the property of Dr. James Vitale.  The house/office are two separate but connected buildings.  The office is 1600 sq ft, 2 exam lanes, pre test room, auxillary testing room, and a dispensary.  The home is circa 1840, wide pine flooring, post and beam with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, all recently remodelled and upgraded utilities, including wood burning hearth stone stove. The optometry practice is for sale exclusively or can be bundled with the home and 1.3 acres. 

The property is located on a corner lot, with separate driveway and parking for the office.  It is handicapped accessible , and one lane has an exam chair resting on a dolly that can be removed so that wheelchair bound patients do not need to transfer.

Office hours are Monday-Thursday, 830-500, and Friday  830-300.  We do not see patients in the evening or weekends currently, but have in the past.

The patient is considered the number one priority, and the practice utilizes the most up to date diagnostic equipment.  

The network is managed by an in-house server with cloud based back up.  The diagnostics, include -

• (2) Topcon CV 5000 Autophoropters
• Digital screens that are networked along with the California Optos

• Zeiss HFA-3 Visual Field
• Optovue Avanti OCT
• Oculus Keratograph

• Falck Medical Tonometer (Tonography, Ophthaldynamometry, and Serial Tonometer).

The Demographic Report (2019), reports a population of over 75,000 within 5 miles of the property.  Plaistow is a small town of about 8000 residents, average household income is about $110,000.   The Williams Group has completed both the demographic report and practice appraisals over the past 6 years and are available for your review.

The optometric staff is currently 3 part time OD’s.  There are 4 techs, 2 opticians, a front desk receptionist, and an office manager and assistant office manger.  The office has well over 200 recent 5 star survey ratings.  The typical day has each optometrist completing about 15 exams, with a good mix of medical care, refractive care and emergencies.

The owner, Dr. Vitale is looking for an energetic Optometrist to take over the practice, stay involved with the community, and continue the excellent care this area deserves.  Dr. Vitale can continue to practice as long as necessary to facilitate the transition of ownership.  Some owner financing may be available, as well as possible Vision Source NEXT assistance.
