My practice is in a rural area of Missouri in the Ozark mountains. This is the county seat with a large drawing area and a lot of camping, hunting and floating. 

I have been in this location for over 40 years and have developed a large committed patient base with over 20,000 patients in our computer system. 

The practice has 4 complete exam lanes with three having the Marco 6100 autorefractors. Along with the refractors we use a Marco Tonoref and a Marco Lensometer for pre test. An OPTOS is done on most patients and a Zeiss OCT is done when needed. 

There are 16 computers in the office and we are using the latest version of our Officemate EMR. 

The office is located in a doctor owned brick building that consists of 5,000 s/f and 3,000 s/f of rental space. The optometry portion of the building was built in 2001. 

Living in a rural area has the advantage of being able to practice like you were taught in optometry school. The medical model is what patients appreciate. They depend on you for their eyecare. You are highly respected and you get to know your patients by their first names. We have great schools and safety is not a problem in this community. This is a great opportunity for a young OD to mature and continue to grow a great practice.
